Palliative Care
Description of Services: Acute palliative care inpatient unit (14 beds) at Brampton Civic Hospital provides:
  • complex and acute pain and symptom management
  • psychological support to patients, caregivers and families
  • care and comfort at the end of life
  • admission direct from home to the inpatient unit for patients with advanced illness who are already registered with one of our palliative care physicians
  • support with discharge planning, including discharge home or other facilities
  • culturally sensitive care that respects the patient’s beliefs, values and preference

5th floor, North Building, Entrance A, take the ROSE elevators

Fees: None - covered by OHIP
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Adults 18 years and over * People suffering from incurable and/or life-limiting illnesses of a cancerous and/or non-cancerous nature
Application: Medical referral required
