Program: Mental Health and Addiction Services - Mental Health Services for Children, Adolescents and Youth - Outpatient Services - Eating Disorders Clinic

Description of Services: Provides outpatient diagnosis, consultation and stepwise treatment for children, youth and adults suffering from mild to moderate eating disorders. Help provided to:

  • eliminate or reduce symptoms of eating disorders
  • develop coping strategies to manage the anxiety of this change

Work collaboratively with physicians and mental health professionals

Note: as eating disorders are associated with serious medical complications, patients who participate in the program must be assessed as medically stable by their family doctor

  • assessment and diagnosis
  • family based treatment for children and adolescents
  • psychoeducation and psychotherapy group intervention
  • nutrition counselling and consultation
  • limited individual sessions
  • medical monitoring in collaboration with family physician
  • psychiatric consultation services
